Svenska Statistikersamfundet (The Swedish Society of Statisticians) is an organisation for statisticians promoting the development of statistical science and applications.
Every autumn a one-day meeting covering topics of interest for the members in the society is arranged. At this meeting new members are elected for the committee.
The society is even one of the four organisations responsible for the journal Scandinavian Journal of Statistics.
Three subsections of the society exist: The Survey Section, The Industrial Section and The Society of Medical Statisticians.

 


Qvartilen, the Society's journal, is sent out to the members four times a year. It discusses topics of interest for statisticians, present news on members, dissertations and conferences. The official language of the journal is Swedish.
'Qvartilen also contains job announcements and advertisements.
Advertisements can even reach the members by direct mail or e-mail. Please contact the secretary in the committee for more information and prices.

Every other year the society organises a summer school for research students and other interested members.
In June 13-19 2005, the Swedish Statistical Society is organizing a summer school. This time, the theme is:
